Dr. Jennifer Gerken was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She knew she wanted to be a doctor since she was 6 years old and fell in love with chiropractic a few years later. At the age of 15, she was experiencing headaches, so her Mom took her to a chiropractor. There she learned she had scoliosis, which was making her entire spine unlevel and causing her headaches. Chiropractic kept her from a life of pain and surgery, so she made it her life goal to spread the word and help heal the world one spine at a time.
Dr. Gerken graduated from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri and completed four years of undergraduate education earning her bachelor of science in Athletic Training. Here she had the opportunity to obtain hundreds of on hand hours assessing, training, rehabilitating, and treating athletes, which she still uses in practice today.
Continuing her education, she attended Logan University- College of Chiropractic and completed the four-year doctoral program earning her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Here she had the opportunity to hold a specialized, highly competitive clinical internship at the BioFreeze Human Performance Center. This clinic focused on maximizing human performance potential of elite, amateur athletes and weekend warriors.
Dr. Gerken has also practiced in Bloomington and Martinsville Indiana. She is thrilled to blend her skills and training with the other amazing practitioners at the Prather practice.
